My routine with all these 3rd party bookings is just to ask at checkin, "Would you like my Hhonors/Marriot/Hyatt/etc. number?" Sometimes they just say "yes." When they respond with, "You booked through Priceline, so you can't get benefits," I just say, "I understand. But sometimes hotels like to have it anyway because it pulls up all my information." They'll often enter it, and sometimes you get credit by accident.
Just assume you won't get points, then if you do, it's a bonus.
I’ve not gotten Hilton points on a prepaid Priceline or Hotwire “opaque” booking — at least not in the past 15 years IIRC — but some Hilton hotels provide me status benefits anyway.
It’s been a long while since US Hiltons have cut me a break on such bookings, and even places that used to cut me a break on such bookings no longer do. Fortunately for me, some European Hilton hotels have been less about the “you are your rate” circumstances than the US ones when it comes to lounge/breakfast and upgrades for me on such stays.
