We are family of 4 plus my mom 70 yr old. Our outbound AA flight 4709 lands in JFK at 8:03PM (terminal 8). Etihad flight EY100 departs at 10:25pm from Terminal 4. So, the total layover is only 2hr 25 mins. Boarding for the Etihad flight I'd think would start by 9.30pm?

1. is 2 hours sufficient time to transfer from terminal 8 to 4 including security at terminal 4? We would be requesting wheel chair access for my mom. How much of walk is there to get to/from Airtrain in terminals 8 & 4?

2. How about if it's delayed say 30 mins? Would the Etihad flight wait for even 30 minutes for connecting passengers to arrive?

3. Worst case, would Etihad rebook us on the next day flight without much drama or $$?
