personal plat, no retention offer in '21 (didn't ask). I've had the card a bunch of years, and they've been good to us--paid for an expensive car rental repair in Europe, have used it a few times for purchase protection (not giant amounts).

was initially told about all the great benefits the card offered, explained to the rep they're not really useful to me at this time. rep said I could use my points to pay the $695. I replied 'the points have been devalued, but not THAT much--I'm saving them for future travel.'

then, was offered $400 for $4000 spend over the next three months. accepted.
