A prepaid MC/V/AMEX card may work for the card hold field.

The person checking in or providing the card for check-in is who is typically responsible for such charges.

Do keep in mind that no-shows on award nights mean that the card used for confirming the reservation can be charged for the stay night. That’s the more typical concern I would have about booking an award night against my account for someone else.
