I immediately went to mySQUpgrade and keyed in my details -

$1749 AUD for (standard) Economy to Business, Amsterdam to Singapore (13h, A350 long haul version).

This is a much better deal than the $2395 AUD I was offered for Economy to Business on the inverse flight coming here, Singapore to Amsterdam. I was predicting the same, if not more expensive considering the peak season, but got a pleasant and happy surprise with MySQUpgrade.

Bit the bullet and paid, I am very much looking forward to my flight and all the restful sleep ill have
The second leg of my return flight, SIN-SYD, I just checked MySQUpgrade for fun with no intention to upgrade, was just curious if there would be as good a deal, Economy to Business upgrade is available on my second flight and was offered for $1483 AUD.

This seems like a comparatively worse deal than what I got from AMS-SIN ($1749), factoring in to SYD on the second leg its a 7hr flight vs 13hr flight from Amsterdam on the first leg and then also the 2018 Regional Medium Haul seat vs the 2013 Long Haul Seat (just personal preference here).

Really don’t know how they decide to price these but I’m definitely curious
