I suspect your definition of travel hacker doesn’t really match mine. Plenty of benefit came (and often still comes) from loyalty.

People here are simultaneously arguing that there are way too many Globalists and way too many points in the system but also that Hyatt isn't being generous enough.
different people are arguing different things based on how their own needs and preferences. Welcome to Flyertalk!

It seems obvious that people who can easily make Glob status (often based on OPM) are complaining that there are too many Globs. They would argue that even if they just miss out on one upgrade they “deserve” or if there is one person in line at the Lounge buffet.

And it’s equally obvious that those who couldn’t rationally justify “working” towards Glob when Gold Passport died still feel that the program isn’t as generous as the old program. I am one of them.
