In a very similar situation. Due to a late BA domestic connection I was bumped from my AA flights from LHR-JFK-SFO onto the direct BA flight to SFO. I was credited TPs for the direct flight however I applied for ORC for the missed AA flight. BA responded (from the email form) saying no because the only credit flights flown, and that I voluntarily accepted the change to the BA flight. Called the exec club who stated this is correct - which appears contrary to all the advice/experience of others on this forum.
This is worrying, as it would directly cost me gold with no time for anything else. BA ghosting everyone is making it worse. I hope you get replies from those in the know who can confirm whether your case is correct.
Was the cancelled/late leg within 24 hours? If so what’s the alternative, you refusing the change and being dragged onto the flight?
This is worrying, as it would directly cost me gold with no time for anything else. I only booked the routing I did to make gold, and would not have accepted the alternative if it would stop me.
