"Funny" story about travel LAX-CLT-BWI this past Thursday. When I booked the flight, I could select a 45 min or two hour layover. I took the latter in case of any issues and to grab a bite after the long flight.

Day of travel...both flights were late. The LAX-CLT was only 40 mins late with ability to arrive close to on time. CLT-BWI was worse. original 10:30PM-12:01am.... pushing further and further as I watched in flight to a 12:30am departure. Yuck. I was also worry it could cancel.

I started looking at other flights to BWI-didn't think it would be possible but thought I'd check. I was carry on only-so flexible. AA inflight wifi on flighttaware I saw another CLT-BWI flight that I wouldnt make except it was delayed-leaving 45 mins after my scheduled arrival. I clicked "where's my aircraft now"? I was sitting on it. The LAX-CLT 321 continued to BWI. I chatted with AA and got moved as that flight had 30 empty seats. I was 9A LAX-CLT and 8A to BWI.

I really lucked out.

Ended up home 20 mins earlier than planned and in bed before my original CLT-BWI took off due to its delays.
