The electronics industry stopped making plasma TVs because they last forever and the picture quality and viewing angle was superior to LCD TVs. I’ve got a Samsung Plasma in my garage that is at least 15 years old and works perfectly. It throws out a lot of heat which makes it not so good for my home office.

Also, people often times still refer to flat panel TVs as “plasma.”
