This might be a normal thing to do in some other countries but in the UK it would be a pretty extreme option - and very unlikely to be cheap even - so really not one I would recommend.
My Lad and GF, did this once living in Whistler. His lease ran out and he had a day until the new one started. Rented a truck, put all their stuff in it, drove up to a lake and slept in the truck. No, I wouldn't do it near Gatwick though!
