Trying to understand mileage credit on partner flights
I'm fairly new to United and Star Alliance, returning after years with Delta and Alaska. This is my first particularly complex trip with them. It is a very long work trip for most of September and I want to make sure I don't pick flights that will not get me credited with as many miles as possible.
Here's the itinerary:
SFO --> NRT --> BKK (UA flight code but operated by All Nippon)
BKK --> SIN (Singapore Airlines)
SIN --> DEL (Looking at either Singapore Airlines direct, or Emirates through DXB. Don't ask. I'm being forced to consider it.)
DEL --> KTH (Air India)
KTH --> DEL (Air India)
DEL --> SIN --> INC (Singapore Airlines)
INC --> NRT (All Nippon, operated by Asiana Airlines)
HND --> SFO (United)
...In any of these scenarios will I accrue mileage at any rate less than I normally would on a flight operated and controlled directly by United?
I should note none of these are going to be basic economy. They will all be unrestricted economy fares. I may pay out of pocket to upgrade the longest legs to first.
