On a 1 night staycation with 2 rooms. 1 paid and 1 Cat7 certificate. Hotel upgraded the free room the day before to a Regency Suite.

Checked-in at 5pm. It was a zoo… heard all the guests in front of me, that their flight was cancelled. Luggage tags showed they were due to fly ZRH-SIN on SQ345/22JUL. Saw on the screen that this flight was cancelled. It seems SQ put up all C class passengers at the HR (I spotted the boarding passes). I heard the FDA say multiple times, that the guests may charge anything to their room and it would all be taken care of by SQ. Very generous I thought, as Babel has some expensive food and wines. Passengers were desperate it seems… they spent about 4 hours on the plane on ground before the flight got cancelled. FR24 shows this taxiing at ZRH.

I did not skip the line to go to the WoH desk. I felt sorry for the PAX.

and now, what really surprised me, suddenly an FDA came to me while I was sill in the queue and simply handed over my keys to my rooms. No ID check, no CC swipe. They recognized me from my previous stays and greeted me by name. This was amazing I thought. Thanks to Pascal, who was the FD manager on duty!!

then, when going to Babel for cocktails and appetizers, I was greeted with „ah, The Globalist, follow me…“ and we were led to our favorite table.

feel the Hyatt touch… if anybody remembers that slogan?. It reflects the attitude of the staff at this hotel. Simply great.
