I ALWAYS use an inflatable seat pad made by Therm-a-Rest. I have one I've used for years everyday on my computer desk chair. The secret to using inflatable seats is to have them fully inflated, then sit on it and slowly let out the air until it feels comfortable. Usually, just a little air is necessary to feel comfortable. It will almost appear as there is no air in the pad, but less is more comfortable. I own two of these pads and take one on every long haul flight. I keep them in my tote bag/backpack while out to sit at random places while I'm exploring a city, including the ground. Works perfectly also on hotel computer desk chairs that are not comfortable.
