Additional data point for today. Arrived by taxi at 815 for our 1035 departure to CDG (connecting to YYZ from there). Given NumbThumb’s message above in which he indicated that he could enter by the F door, I decided to have the taxi alight at departures-the first time this summer as until now I have been dropped off at the car park and walked through Schiphol plaza. However, travelling with a lot of luggage today, it was very useful being dropped off directly at departures.
As we were approaching the F door with a toddler in a pram, three big bags and all accompanying hand luggage, the Schiphol worker started blocking off the door and directing us to join a queue to an unknown door. I insisted that we go through as
all the people prior to us, and he eventually relented and let us pass.
From there, it was a simple check in process, where we had a nice chat with the check in agent, comparing the current crowds to those when we flew to Canada for the birth of our son in April 2020. We took the lift up to priority security, where we waited less than 10 minutes. Non-priority security looked awful.
We headed straight to the lounge and were feeding the little guy breakfast 20 mins after being dropped off. We’ve had much worse
experiences pre-covid.
The flight is on time and our bag have been loaded (as confirmed by our AirTags). We even had working walkways at the C gates, which the little guy enjoyed riding on. All in all, not a bad day to fly (so far… let’s not jinx it).
