Equipment change, who gets downgraded

First time on JL, flying NRT-SIN 8/10 on an AA codeshare, paid D fare, EXP/OWE. Just noticed they swapped the original 763 with Sky Suite II for a 788 with Neo seats. While I'm disappointed to lose my solo, non-angled lie flat seat, my real worry is what happens if they swap back to the original aircraft (as often happens on other airlines). The 788 has 30 seats in J, whereas the 763 only has 24, so as many as 6 people could get downgraded. Given the transit situation at NRT I can't exactly wait for the next available J seat, and I really don't want to do this flight in Y.

If this happens, is there any rhyme or reason (status, fare class, paid/award, codeshare, etc.) to who gets downgraded, or anything I can do to reduce the chance of being one of the unlucky 6?
