I think that's the expectation, but having watched a route (BOS-DOH-MLE) I have not been seeing all of the same J seats via the AA Web interface, and for whatever reason sometimes AA likes showing just routes like BOS-ORD-DOH-MLE even when BA shows 2 seats in J on BOS-DOH-MLE .

A suitable flight did appear once it entered the AA booking window ... but the Web site ended-up trying to book the flight DOH-MLE 39 hours *before* the BOS-DOH flight arrived. Calling-in the next day phone agent couldn't fix it despite BA still showing available flights; so I cancelled the hold and booked with Avios. Somebody more determined might have still gotten it booked via AA, but it wasn't worth the effort to me at that point (I wanted to avoid HUCA with the laughably inaccurate hold times).

Some other notes:
1) The booking flow looked right, with DOH-MLE leaving Sunday morning, rather than Friday morning.
2) Last time I booked the same route, for October this year, everything seemed to work without issue--but I needed to cancel/reschedule the trip.
3) When I released the hold, I don't think AA saw the award inventory for the BOS-DOH flight until ... maybe the next day; so some of the issues might be down to stale state in AA's system and an infrequent update schedule (midnight central time).
