Hello. Is there any way to modify a segment on booking without the agent releasing the whole ticket? I have MIA-DOH-MLE booked in J and noticed that the earlier DOH- MLE flight is now available to book with miles. Called AA and agent said the could switch it, but could not guarantee that the long haul segment would come back into inventory right away. So I told her to leave as is. Is this accurate? Just trying to save myself a long layover if I can and get into MLE in the morning vs. afternoon. Thank you.
They should be able to switch just the short haul flight to a different time. I've done it, so unless things have changed in the past half year it should still be doable. Try calling again.
