As a wildcard, I had a very nice and inexpensive stay in the Ibis Budget in Hounslow, with a bus leaving from just outside direct to T5 for an early departure.
Stayed at an IBIS budget once at BHX, because it was a third of the price of the Hilton. Fair to say it lost me a lot of brownie points with Mrs RC, despite the fact we were there for less than 6 hours. No actual bathroom, shower cubicle/sink in the 'room' and toilet in a cupboard... hmm.
And I thought that Travelodge was the red line for her... although on the plus side, I'm weaning her away from the idea that cheap is good because "it's just somewhere to rest your head"
