I would be interested in knowing if this is a USA specific rule, or if customers from Europe managed to end up with the lower fare by filing a complaint. In any case good for you, and may that help them fix this $#^%% bug.
I agree... this is really in between; as an American I complained to the DOT but the route and passengers originate in France. My backup plan was actually to use the Söp, as I also have a German address. In my complaint and correspondence I argued that it was an advertised price, and that this is akin to "bait and switch".
