That's actually no longer true. It used to just be GS reps that wore yellow but now it's a larger group of "premium service" ground staff agents including all United Club agents and Polaris agents.
So seeing a yellow scarf is no guarantee that they are taking care of GS customers nor does it indicate whether they're familiar with GS rules and exceptions.
