I seem to have a problem no one else has written about judging by the search I just did.
Yesterday I joined Iberia Plus and tried to link it to my Amex Plat so I could transfer MR points. Couldn't do it as it says IP accounts are 8 digits and mine is 9. That's what singles it out as a new account. Amex site won't accept it. I contacted their chat and they said it's down to Iberia to sort it out their end and they haven't updated things yet. Amex said there would surely be a workaround like dropping the first or last digit and that I needed to ask them. So that's what I did and received this truly unhelpful email this morning....

Any idea on what I can do? Desperate to do this as it's the only way of validating the account and then being able to add avios apparently. Thanks for contacting us.
