Some weeks ago, before the change in mileage fares (devaluation?), I looked into doing a one way J award for 4 family members this August for MRS-JFK via CDG. When I did my search I saw this:

It clearly shows that the lowest fare for the selected day, August 3rd, should be 55k, but in fact only offers 73.5k once you go to select specific flights. I have seen this issue once or twice in the past, and just found better alternatives, but this time this wasn't an option. In a phone call, FB confirmed my suspicions that they weren't able/willing to do anything about this, so I booked for 73.5k p.p. as I didn't want to risk having to spend 200k+ by waiting around. However, I did file a complaint about this with the US DOT. AF/FB did respond a few weeks later, and when I stated that an apology wasn't enough, they actually went ahead and transferred me the 74k miles they had overcharged.

So, PSA: if you encounter this glitch when making an award booking, take a screenshot and make a complaint; you should be able to get the price corrected.
