In the US, if the flight is cancelled due to weather there's no accommodations unless the airline decides to do so on a case by case basis. Elites, particularly higher elites used to get different treatment but those days are long gone. You're just another face in the crowd if a flight is cancelled for weather.

Last week my AA flight from MIA to DCA got cancelled because the crew timed out as we were delayed due to weather. When paxs asked about a hotel and food voucher they were told to go pound sand. There was even a huge hassle (3 hours) getting bags back so that people would have a change of clothes for the next day.
