I was going to be in a similar situation. Unfortunately, my trip got canceled. But I was going to stay at the AC hotel near the train station. That way I got to visit the area, as there is really nothing around the airport hotels that I found interesting. Plus it was going to be easier for me to take public transport in the morning to the airport, rather than a shuttle or taxi from an airport hotel.
But that being said, that was my plan, no real world experience with it. So take my advice with a grain of salt.
