I like tempura shrimp in various combination rolls, and I’m ok with ebi (shrimp nigiri) bc at least it’s cooked, but having had it a couple times** I’m now a “no thanks” to “sweet shrimp” (raw; amaebi and botan-ebi)

itame-san (sushi chef) offered a Japanese-speaking foursome at the bar the opportunity to select their own shrimp from the live tank (he gave me one also
