I am wondering if it is better to switch her flight to a earlier flight from Rome to Frankfurt with a 4 hour 40 min connection or have her fly through Munich with a 2 hr 5 min connection or Zurich 2hr 10 min connection. She has flown through Frankfurt and Zurich before, but not Munich. She will also be flying in business class (not an award).
Welcome to FT !
It should be fine unless there is a significant delay to the FCO flight, and she would be rebooked in the case of a misconnect.
If you can change for free, MUC would be much better, it’s the best airport in Europe for connecting
