In general being friendly and relatable helps. Personally I'm not the most charismatic but I always try to treat people with respect, and that goes a long way.

I'm not too interested in material things like purses, and have cynical opinions on high margin products, but to each their own. Rapport building typically helps, however it's done.

Back to the topic of AC kits, I am annoyed that my luggage tags say they are from 2020, and that my card is expired. Makes us that were SE before the pandemic feel extra special and important when new status holders get kits, but we don't. Can't wait to try an LH lounge with the expired card.
