In any event, you must be able to see MUC-IST-SFO award space at the time of the change. As has been mentioned thousands of times on this board, TK uses married segments. So you cannot just "hold on" to one leg of your journey and cancel/change the other. The whole thing must be cancelled and rebooked.
He can change for a fee one of the segments of the itinerary if the new flight doesn't exceed the 24h.
I tried and i arrive at the payment. I don't know if the transaction goes on.
