I crossed a million yesterday AUA-IAD. In a first for me, the captain and first officer changed gates with me D14 to C6 and flew me home to CLE. What are the odds it was Cleveland based pilots in Aruba taking me all the way home? They were awesome. Since we were flying over water, they had the prints of the flight plan, etc. for backup to the iPads. The entire crew signed them for me.
I died at #1 on the upgrade list for that short flight home and was in 7C. The flight attendant came by to offer water, told me congratulations and that on his first flight of the day, YVR-DEN, there was a passenger that crossed a million. And he was in 7C on that same aircraft. The FA said he did a double take that two people crossed the threshold the same day were in the same seat, but different flights the same day. It truly is a small world.
I can’t believe I forgot the best thing about my IAD-CLE flight. The guy behind me is part of the Cleveland Orchestra and was traveling with his violin. While it isn’t a Stradivarius, it was made in 1704 - a fricking 318 year old piece of history was just over my head.
