If a lot of flights from CHS to east coast, those will be short, cheapish and so earn little (status & redeemable ff miles) to any ffp. Those 3 ffp's are revenue based.
I think that that's why crediting AA and B6 flights to AAdvantage might be best for the OP. With AAdvantage, one can earn Loyalty Points toward status not just from airfare, but from a whole variety of spending.
The combination of AA and B6 would give the OP nonstop options to BOS, all three NYC-area airports, PHL, DCA, FLL, MIA, and LAX.
And achieving just low-level elite status with AAdvantage would give the OP not only a free checked bag on both AA and B6, but also free extra-leg-room seats on both carriers at 24 hours before departure (if any such seats remain).
