Both DL and AA fly LAX-DFW, DFW-LGA/JFK, and JFK-LAX.

AA also flies SNA-DFW, DFW-EWR, and JFK-SNA, in case any of those alternate airports is better for your daughter.

You should certainly be able to use the DL credit for at least one segment.
