I have stayed in a few Hampton recently - more in part due to the HH promotion and they happen to be near where I need to be - the one I stayed at in Louisiana (LA) was very nice, clean, almost appeared "over-staffed", if that is possible these days (I would often walk in at various hours and see staff sitting the lobby doing like make-work stuff as there was not anything else obvious that needed done at the time. The rooms appeared clean, so it wasn't like they were skimping on that aspect of the service. However, staying now in a Hampton in NE - 19 day stay, 3 nights into it... people appear nice and I see the staff constantly cleaning (I have not opted for housekeeping yet) - but the place does look rough....like in a new coat of paint, needs new carpeting and window dressing sort of way... but I guess that is a different question.

The breakfast options appear consistent and reasonable/good - but that is not something I partake in.

My gripe is that I am HH Diamond and typically on 1-2+ week stays and begging for upgrades is a pain......
