I was in the Navy and flew out to a posting at the NATO base in Naples late summer 1976. Think it was BA but can't even remember if it was Heathrow or Gatwick. No idea what aircraft!

I remeber a few days later getting my living expenses sorted and being told I was getting over 1 million lire which sounded great, but was actually less than £600, as I recall.
