I am afraid this tells my age , my first memory of an international flight was an AF flight LHR ORY , L1049G , ( super constellation ) I sat at the back , and there were day old chicks in boxes behind me chirping away . The return was from LBG in a BOAC DC-7C , with BEA sub titles ; it was the last days of these four engine piston giants , and they were being drafted in to meet Summer peak demand on what then must have been the busiest route in Europe .
