Hyatt Place St Augustine - Obviously not gonna offer a "higher end" feel, but it's brand new and there are some nice-looking shops and restaurants in the area (never been to any of them) as well as a short drive (3-4 miles) to downtown St Augustine which is extremely nice. Loads of great restaurants and shops in a very charming and unique setting. The hotel is also very close to the beach.
Hyatt Place St Petersburg - The location is fantastic and the property feels fairly elegant for an HP. It's still just an HP but if you're gonna consider this class, then this hotel should certainly be included.
Thank you! This is exactly the kind of intel I was hoping for. I like your info on Sarasota HR bc walking distance is nice for an R&R type trip. I was mostly looking at higher end than HPs, but good to know about these props bc we spend a lot of time in the area visiting family. Ironically we will already be in St Augustine before this little excursion. I didn’t even know there was an HP there!
