I read another article that said they actually cancelled a passenger flight (DL17) in order to run the luggage-only flight. So there is less here than it seems (they didn't fly over an empty 332 just for the luggage). The second daily LHR-DTW (DL19) does not operate on Mondays so there were no passenger flights operated on LHR-DTW on 7/11.
