While I have heard good things (including an excellent review concerning the club lounge) about the new Ritz on Avery, it is in a less desirable spot in contrast to the other two elite hotels mentioned (FS and old RC).

The FS receives rave reviews from most and IMHO has the better restaurants.

The Copley Square Hotel is like many of the NYC hotels where it depends on what style of room that you receive. This is where Clinton used to stay when he came to town.

XV Beacon is very modern, upscale and in a neat location near the statehouse and 1/2 block from the Park. The Federalist contained therein, while a very good restaurant, is definitely priced for the expense account set (read: about 25% more than it should be) as they have exhorbitant markups of 3-4 times wholesale on their wine...a huge pet peeve.
