The issue with JetBlue's customer service is that the majority of them either are really new, or don't encounter issues like this often enough to know what's wrong, so they'll just go and try it, and when it doesn't work, they'll just tell you and leave it at that. I don't think they train them on infrequent issues. This was the case pre-pandemic as well, so they can't really blame it on that.
