. I’m shocked at the price difference you found. My info is a few years old but I recall $4 as the airport imposed surcharge. The rest could be just Uber’s pricing engine. The price difference should be less for Lyft and less at non peak hours.
it is always a very significant difference IME - for my 40 mi trip home usually $60-70 from hyatt or hertz vs $120-150 from LAXit.. been this way since LAXit started iirc and probably prior although i mostly rented one way back then as corporate rate was better and hle more reliable.. dont have lyft installed so not sure on that
