I personally would go with 2A...that is my personal preference for this plane. I don't like row 1 as it is too close to the galleys. Row 3 feels to busy for me, and row 4 is the last row which I don't particularly care for.
AA 943 would be an ODD flight (i.e. Service starts from back). It is the last number of the flight that makes the determination (of course in this case it does not matter, 9 vs. 3). AA generally adheres to FEBO (front-even-back-odd), but you cannot always be sure. If you are concerned about getting the food of your choice, you may want to select row 3 instead of 2.
