Checked-through baggage to final destination when travelling on 2 separate EK tickets
Hi travel experts,
I am planning to purchase two different Emirates tickets involving 3 cities (A, B, and C) with separate PNRs for international travel, first one a multi-city ticket as follows:
PNR1:
first leg: A-B (via DXB)
second leg: DXB-A
and second one, a one-way non-stop flight:
PNR2: C-DXB
which is scheduled to arrive in DXB, 3 hours before the flight time of the second leg of PNR1 (DXB-A). I am doing this due to favorable pricing compared to booking all of them together in a single PNR.
Now my question is, whether Emirates would allow me to check baggage all the way through my final destination (from C to A), so I can transit and stay on airside of DXB without needing to comply with Covid-19 travel requirements for passengers entering UAE, or is there a chance they will object and require me to pass DXB immigration, collect baggage and check-in for the next flight (DXB-A)?
Considering all flights are with Emirates (EK) itself, I would guess it is not a problem, but if there is the slightest chance that the local check-in staff at airport C would not allow this, I would rather not risk it.
I tried the online chat on Emirates website, but it is almost always unavailable, so thought I would hear insights from seasoned travelers who have had similar experience in the past.
Thanks,
Alex
