Perhaps boarding early and sitting down even in an uncomfortable economy seat is better than standing huddled around the gate waiting for your group to be called.
More uncomfortable than having my shoulder hit repeatedly by the bags of careless passengers as they walk by, or getting up twice as people are still boarding, so that the A and B or E and F pax can squeeze on by? Maybe, maybe not.
