Yes. Both my kids (aged 9 & 7) have had their own SkyMiles accounts for years.

My kids typically take 2 international trips with me every year. From India to the US in the summer & India to Europe in the winter so they end up accruing around 40K miles every year. I will continue to use the miles every now & then to book tickets for them till they turn 18. After that they are free to do what they want with their miles.

They both have FF accounts with 2 other airlines that we use outside of the US.

I wait a few years to accrue miles & then use it to book tickets for them. So every 2-3 years they end up having enough miles to pay for one holiday.
