My only recent experience was in the reverse situation - NZ codeshare on QF metal TSV-BNE.

AirNZ had this so absolutely locked-down the booking that nothing could be done until physical check-in at the airport. I tried everything to attempt access to the booking to obtain a decent seat assignment as a QF Gold, all to no avail.
