Well, mother's teach us things. I return the favour when I can. And the bottom line lesson here is if you want to fly in business, buy a ticket in business. All the other methods have an element of chance.
As does actually paying for a ticket these days, but if they try and downgrade you can refuse the flight and fly later, and/or fight for compensation with a reasonable chance of success.
