Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village

Introduction Here is my review of the Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village (opened July 2022). It's my first attempt at a review; I hope it is okay! Location Liverpool already has a Pullman, Novotel, Mercure, ibis, ibis Styles and Adagio in the city centre or on the waterfront. The newest Accor property is the Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village which opened in July 2022. This property is located away from the city centre on the edge of the University of Liverpool campus, near to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. From Liverpool Lime Street station it is a straightforward 15-20 minute walk, with a slight upward gradient most of the way. The location is good for the university and hospital on the door-step, and both Liverpool and Everton football clubs within about 2 miles. For the city centre and waterfront attractions, all the other Accor properties are more convenient. Paddington Village itself is planned to be a substantial new development on the east of the city centre. Exterior of hotel View from 15th floor showing both Liverpool cathedralsView from 15th floor showing stadium Check In Check in was welcoming, efficient and informative. Breakfast was offered at £20, which I declined. Parking is available in the new Paddington Village multi-storey car park for £13. Public Areas The public areas are spread over the ground and first floors. They are quite extensive, with areas for working and lounging on the ground floor and the restaurant and bar upstairs. Free-standing reception desk (bottom right), stairs (bottom left), restaurant (top).LobbyLobbyLobbyLobbyLobby coffee shop (closes at 4pm)Bar Room Standard room was much as expected and everything was fine. There is no minibar/fridge, although there is a space for one. There are bigger rooms including some with a kitchenette, but I didn't see these. BedroomDesk and TVMirrorChairBedside tableTea tray (there was also a Nespresso machine)Room safe with space for minibar/fridge (not included). Bathroom Tap is on the side!Shower Amenities There is a small fitness room on the second floor, but I didn't take any pictures. There are also three function rooms: Service Service was helpful and enthusiastic, from check in right through to check out. I received a small welcome gift of a Liverpool magnet and card.Welcome gift: souvenirs of Liverpool card and magnet. Dining I didn't dine at the hotel, as dinner finished at 9.30pm and I didn't fancy a £20 breakfast. Instead I chose to use a Lidl supermarket about 5 minutes walk away for morning pastries and bread. Dining possibilities near the property are limited, apart from some outlets on the university campus, Currently a trip into the city centre is necessary for a wide choice of dining until the Paddington Village area is further developed. Overall Overall a good property and a solid stay. Visitors interested in the Liverpool waterfront attractions or city centre might find one of the other Accor properties more convenient, perhaps the Pullman. However, I would not hesitate to return to the Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village.
