Thanks for taking the time to write up your experiences and save many of us the disappointment. It did seem to me that this is a very "style over substance" property, and it sadly is. I guess there are many other pretentious hotels overcharging for their "concept" in Berlin to choose from, plus a number of properties offering the good old-fashioned hospitality like the Schweizerhof (even if that one is indeed quite old-fashioned).
