Just an FYI: When booking FHR, do not prepay for your stay...

A while back, I booked an FHR property through Canadian Centurion travel services. I thought I had to choose prepay to use my $500 annual travel credit. When calling hotel to confirm stay and point accumulation, they advised this was booked through expedia. I called Centurion travel and they advised me that sometimes when using prepay, the stays are booked through their travel partners instead of direct through Amex Travel. They advised me that if I want my status to be recognized and to accumulate points with the hotel partner, that I should not use prepay, and instead pay at the hotel.

They were able to cancel my reservation, rebook it properly, and even saved me a couple hundred bucks on the rebook!
