Interesting post... and yeah, I think we do have an "awareness" about things that others don't see.
Then again, I see some of my pet peeves MOST frequently with the EXPs and PLTs that I tend to be seated with in the F cabin. They include:
* Standing in the aisle and announcing to me that you have the window seat - without moving the HELL out of my way so I can get up and let you in. Common courtesy dictates that you stand back at the previous row because the passenger behind that person is likely to move up. When you block my exit, how the hell am I supposed to let you into your seat?
* Experienced travelers who don't put their bags in the overhead bin correctly. Wheels first, not sideways, on the newer bins.
* Folks who think they are somehow exempt from the one bag in the overhead, one under the seat in front of you rule. I have been known to call these people out to the FAs when overhead bin space runs out because it is rude and selfish behavior unless you are seated on the bulkhead or the flight is pretty empty.
You know though, Sam is right. I wouldn't notice any of these things if I didn't fly so darned much. And getting to travel like this really is a blessing I need to enjoy while I have it.
So maybe ignorance isn't bliss... but knowledge needs a dose of humility?
