Good point. It would be a close call for me AA vs. AS in Y.

We flew the AA 321 OGG-PHX just last week due to AS mx. Upgraded right after purchase a couple hours prior to departure on a $270 OW fare. It's now a very easy upgrade since AA dropped the widebodies. Interesting to see how discerning the market has become - AA was selling out the F cabin at $2k + RT when they were flying the widebodies, now the F seats are mostly going for upgrades.

AA provided a pillow and a real blanket in F for the redeye.
